Harewood is a place of activity and lifelong learning, created by generations of architects, artists, designers, collectors, gardeners, and the people who have lived and worked here. It is a place for inspiration. We aim to promote the understanding and enjoyment of Harewood as a place of historic and contemporary interest.

Adult Learners

Workshops, lectures, seminars and events provide intimate access to and expert interpretation of the House, its collections and exhibitions, for adult learners.

Events are tailored to meet a wide range of levels of prior engagement and aim to further the visitor's understanding and appreciation in a way not always possible on a normal visit.

Groups are kept small to facilitate a high quality learning experience.

Activities and events include practical art workshops run by professional artists, talks by contemporary artists, study days with experts and talks by curatorial staff on aspects of the historic collections of Fine and Decorative Arts, evening lectures and guided walks in the gardens and grounds.

Even when the House is closed during the winter there are Behind The Scenes talks and special tours.
