The Leeds Bereavement Forum supports the need in society to express grief and to come to terms with loss.
The Forum, set up in 1996, and is a city-wide network of organisations and individuals who offer services to bereaved people. A small team have been appointed to organise and manage this, to create the Directory and web Directory and to help develop and improve bereavement services as part of Leeds preventative mental health strategy. We work closely with existing services.
The Forum holds twice-yearly conferences and has several special interest groups.
The Forum is funded by the Leeds Primary Care Trust under their Mental Health remit.
Special Interest Groups
Leeds Bereavement Forum runs a number of Special Interest Groups for professionals working with bereavement and the bereaved.
These groups give workers the opportunity to meet with other workers involved with the same issues, to share information and skills, to keep up-to-date and to occasionally hear speakers, both local and national, on specific issues.
